Austen in August Sign-Up Post

I have in the past participated in this and almost forgot to sign up for it this year. It starts tomorrow and the host is Roof Beam Reader. For the month of August I will read some books by Jane Austen and other modern twists on the novels. I plan on reading the following, in not any particular order:

-Death Comes To Pemberley by PD James
-Longbourn by Jo Baker
-Persuasion (I have tried reading this in the past, and didn't really care for it, but will try again)
-Sense and Sensibility

I am not sure if I will complete all of these books, so we shall see, if I do though that I might then reread Pride and Prejudice along with Emma.

Another Row....

I have completed another row, and in do so started on another mini flower. I think the color of it might be a tad too dark for the surrounding flowers, but this is supposed to be somewhat scrappy so perhaps it will work. I still have a long ways to go of course. I find it is much easier to put the hexagons together in rows than making the flowers by themselves first. I hope to complete two more rows together today. I don't think you can see the purple that well in the picture of the newest flower I am working on.

Flower Lapghan Project

I decided to make a mini Grandmother's Flower Garden for my grandmother, I had never made her a quilt before like I did my other Grandmother. I had already started working on it a few months ago and than put it aside while working on other projects for my grandmother who recently passed. I had about two flowers done and a little over a week added all of the other flowers and border. Enjoy the pictures!

Life getting back to normal.....

the last few months have been majorly busy. While the Spring semester ended another started a week after, and only last 8 weeks so it was a exam bout every other week. The finals week I had two exams. My Grandmother who was ill passed away and then flying halfway across the country to attend her funeral. I wasn't able to finish her cross stitch card in time, and I don't think I will ever finish it. I have worked quite a bit in the last week on some projects and will post about them tomorrow.
