Here is progress that I have done before starting to watch the Olympics tonight.

I am excited by the amount I have accomplished since Friday. Now back to the Olympics and stitching!

My Love for Books....

Besides enjoying crafts, I also love to read and have almost three bookselves full of them. This wasn't always the case, and at one time in my life I hated to read. Anyways, almost a year ago the Quilt Guild in which I belong too started a book club. It has been great and I have found some authors I otherwise wouldn't have normally read. Lately, though I have been thinking that I really do need to read more of the books I have. Of course, besides just reading a good book I also like to talk about them with others. So every once in awhile, or more if I like a book, I plan on putting in my two cents of what I thought. I may even now and then have a giveaway. Currently I am reading the following;

The Union Quilters
The Fault In Our Stars
The Other Mr. Darcy
The House of Tyneford

Progress on June 12 for 2012 Project

I had previously started on this project, and worked on it today while we were watching Harry Potter series. We got all the way through from the first until the 5th movie tonight, tomorrow we hope to watch the rest of the series before the Olympic Opening Ceremonies begin. I was only on the grey part of the letter M earlier today, when I picked the project up to work on. Here is a picture of progress made. Since the pick was taken a few hours ago, I have gotten even more done.

March 12 for 2012 Complete!

Finally completed Tinkerbell today. I do not plan on doing the backstitches as normally I am not a fan. I hope my niece likes her birthday gift (it is belated, but I gave her other gifts before). So far for the 12 for 2012 projects that I will be completing I have finished the months of Jan., March, and April. The next project that I will be working on for my 12 for 2012 list is the month of June. It will be a belated birthday gift for my sister. After that I plan to go back and work on the months for Feb, May & July to get caught up.

Here is a final pic of Tinkerbell;

Today in our house we are having a Harry Potter marathon, so I will be working on this project quite a bit today. I have already worked on it a little bit before today. Currently I am still on the M for music with the grey color.

Slow but surely...

I am working on more progress, as my yet unknown, hexagon project. Could be a table runner or a quilt, who knows. I am just playing it by ear, I guess until I feel like no longer working on it. I love hexagons and the English Paper Piecing is addictive. Last night while at a quilt guild meeting, I put more pieces together.

Here is the progress of all of it together by rows, assuming I would put it together like this. I plan on waiting until I have made all of my rows though to put it all together, as I want to ensure I don't have to much of one color together.

While at the quilt guild people always give away items they no longer want. I was lucky enough to get this pattern by Bonnie Blue Quilts. I plan on checking out their other patterns, hopefully they have a shop online.

I haven't accomplished much for my 12 for 2012 goals, although on Friday I plan on working a lot on some projects while watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics. So I should be posting some progress pics later on in the week.

Independance Day

Besides doing a few errands, we have been inside enjoying the nice central air. I have been working on a English Paper Piecing project, although I have yet to decide what I will be making it into. Even though I love the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern, I have chosen to just do a scrappy version of hexies. Enjoy the pictures. Not sure there will be fireworks tonight due to mostly drought and the temps. Perhaps I will catch it on tv. Hope everyone who is celebrating Independence Day are able to stay cool during this heatwave throughout the country.

 This just shows some that I have finally put together into rows. I have TONS done that need to be stitched together.
Just a closeup.

Trying To Stay Cool....

In this huge heat wave, that doesn't seem likely to disappear anytime soon. I haven't been able to do much of any crafty things lately. This has been mostly none weather related, but as things are slowly returning to normal I hope to be able to do more. I am almost done with Tinkerbell, but instead of taking a pic now I am going to wait until it is completed. However, I do have some pics of fabric that I got a few monhs ago to show you all. Normally it is not what I would pick, but I just couldn't resist. The last pic is of a string quilt I put the blocks together at retreat months ago in April. Enjoy!
